2014 - 2017
The partnership between the Arbor Research Collaborative for Health and the European Renal Association-European Dialysis and Transplant Association (ERA-EDTA) establishes the EURODOPPS initiative. This brings together the strengths of two initiatives, the Dialysis Outcomes and Practice Patterns Study (DOPPS) and the ERA-EDTA Registry, in collecting and analyzing epidemiological data on patients on dialysis in Europe. It also facilitates research conducted by European investigators using EURODOPPS data to address scientific and policy questions that are of interest to the European nephrology community and health care authorities.
The DOPPS, a major program area at Arbor Research, is a prospective cohort study of haemodialysis practices that began in 1996 and currently is ongoing in more than twenty countries. Using a common data-collection protocol over time, the DOPPS monitors the impact of changes in clinical practice patterns and policies on patient outcomes. The ERA-EDTA Registry collects epidemiologic data from national and regional renal registries in Europe performing scientific research and reporting statistics on dialysis and kidney transplant patients in Europe.
The ERA-EDTA-DOPPS Oversight Committee (EDOC) comprising the following individuals has been established to direct analyses of this EURODOPPS dataset:
- Fergus Caskey (ERA-EDTA)
- Christian Combe (EURODOPPS)
- Kitty Jager (ERA-EDTA)
- Werner Kleophas (EURODOPPS)
- Ziad Massy (ERA-EDTA)
- Bruce Robinson (Arbor Research)
- Francesca Tentori (Arbor Research)
